MateSel
Instructions for MateSel
Brian and Sandy Kinghorn
Matesel is used to drive your breeding program. It makes
selection and mating recommendations that can be used for a wide range of
activities associated with breeding programs. See the Instruction manual and videos for more detail on
what MateSel does.
These instructions cover operation of the two versions of MateSel:
Windows desktop version
Batch version: Command line batch
versions for Windows and Linux
The first of these provides a graphical user interface
(GUI) that enables editing of parameters or changing the goal posts during the
run, providing opportunity to discover what can be achieved across the many
issues involved. It also helps illustrate outcomes that are not desirable. The
Batch version is useful for widespread and/or very frequent runs, where
parameter settings are thought to be appropriate and there is little time to
spend on each run.
